- The Fund can only invest in projects or companies based on a significant contribution of intellectual property (IP) from Rainbow partners (for a list of current partners, see Our Partners
- The ownership of the IP should be clear
- Our investment should ultimately lead to the commercialisation of science or technology, (Rainbow Seed Fund is not a substitute for grant funding)
- Products or services should focus on under-served, growing and potentially large markets
- For larger investments (typically above £25,000) we are likely to want to see relevant commercial experience in the team and co-investment from third parties (such as the management team, wealthy individuals or venture capital)
- The fund is able to invest directly in existing companies who want to exploit intellectual property from our partner institutes, provided those companies are still at the seed stage.
The fund is generally able to coinvest alongside most other early stage funds, including the University Challenge Funds, but please contact us to discuss your own particular circumstances
There is no requirement for any matched funding. |
